“Since Setting the Wire is in part an effort to sort out questions of memory, I would say that its form is both a response to the nature of traumatic memory and an account of one,” says MFAW-VT alum Sarah C. Townsend of her memoir in her interview with the Chicago Review of Books.

Setting the Wire, which was Townsend’s Goddard MFA thesis about her postpartum psychosis, was recently published by the Lettered Streets Press.
